I applied to Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy Early Assurance Program. This program grants the student automatic admission during high school, but the application process was very vigorous. I had to submit a three page essay and do an interview with a School of Pharmacy professor. The essay was difficult for me since I have always found writing to be challenging, but I knew Alissa would be happy to help. We went through multiple revisions together until my essay was completed with no errors. Not only did she help me create a great essay, but she also took the time to explain to me the different changes that she suggested and why they should be changed. Many of these lessons that I have learned from her I still use to write my college essays. Additionally, she went above and beyond by helping me prepare for my interview. With her help I was accepted into the pharmacy program that I always dreamed of. If it wasn’t for Alissa, the application process would have been very stressful, so I highly recommend working with her to achieve your goals.

Alissa Davies worked closely with three of my children throughout high school to mentor and guide them as they applied for scholarships. The task of locating and pursuing these can be an overwhelming task for high school students, yet Alissa was able to help my children successfully navigate this process. She was extremely engaging and personable as she interacted with them, and as a result she was able to form strong connections with my children that allowed her to give personalized feedback and advice as they worked through the multitude of essays that had to be submitted.

She equipped them with solid writing skills, but she also helped them develop self-confidence in their interpersonal communication. This mentoring prepared them for the ongoing task of seeking out and applying for additional scholarships throughout their college years. Specifically, it gave them confidence in approaching college faculty in their “quest” for further scholarships.

Two of my children were able to have their college education costs covered completely through scholarships, and the third had the majority of his expenses paid for as well. The skills they acquired because of Alissa's scholarship coaching played a significant role in setting them up for success with this!

Alissa was a huge help to me. She assisted me with writing, studying, and preparing for scholarships. She used her expertise to guide me in the right direction while still using my ideas. She helped me fine-tune every essay I wrote and was always willing to take time to help me. An example that really sticks in my mind is the United States Constitution Test Scholarship. Without her help, I would not have taken first place. She went above and beyond by providing me with additional resources and helping me study. I am so thankful for everything Alissa has done for me. She has so much knowledge and is always willing to share it with anyone who comes to her for help. 

Alissa made the overwhelming task of finding and applying for scholarships easy and painless! She knew my daughter so well that she was able to find scholarships that were a perfect fit for her, thus increasing her chances of receiving one. My daughter was encouraged to fine-tune her writing skills, and Alissa accepted nothing but her best work on the scholarship applications. She not only proofread the essays, but modeled and demonstrated the kind of writing that is necessary to be considered for highly competitive scholarships. Alissa encouraged questions and took the time to explain again if things were not understood. This has helped my daughter in college because she is no longer afraid to ask for help and has sought out her professors during office hours; something I don’t think she would have done if not for Alissa Davies. Every step of the way through high school and the scholarship process, Alissa was a mentor who gave her time and talents to ensure my daughter would be successful.  

As a high school student, the idea of preparing for collegiate academics daunted me. I felt overwhelmed when it came to preparing essays and applications, whether it applied to high school jobs or college applications. Alissa Davies offered clear guidance in these areas, and with her professional encouragement I was able to see my writing skills improve drastically throughout my high school career. It has been nearly ten years since I worked with her, and to this day I use the skills she taught to help me in my current workplace. I could not recommend her more as a resource for your student!

My daughter has always struggled with writing and when it came to college applications she was very nervous that her essays would not be good enough to be admitted into her dream college. I have always helped her edit and revise her school papers, but when it came to college applications I didn’t know what they were looking for. So when Alissa offered to help my daughter with her application I was very pleased to have another set of eyes to look it over, especially since she received so many scholarships herself and helped other students also achieve their higher education goals.
