About Scholarships Simplified

My name is Alissa Davies and I am the founder of Scholarships Simplified LLC. My aspiration had always been to obtain a college education without accumulating debt. My parents made it clear to me that they could only give limited assistance when it came to paying for school, so we came to an agreement. They would aid in purchasing a used car for me, and I would take on the responsibility of financing my college education by seeking out scholarship opportunities. Fortunately, I received invaluable guidance from my older cousin, who had recently navigated the college landscape without incurring any expenses. 

During my senior year, the process of applying for scholarships became somewhat of a part-time job, but my cousin's advice and my commitment to this pursuit finally paid off on my 18th birthday, when I received the life-changing news that I had earned a full four year scholarship to cover tuition, room and board from my private university. Around that same time, additional scholarships began arriving, serving as tangible rewards for the four years of preparation and hard work that I had invested. As I embarked on my journey into teaching and pursued my graduate studies, I was privileged to receive further scholarships that substantially offset the cost of my advanced degree. In total, I was honored to receive awards exceeding $204,000 in today's value, encompassing not only tuition but also covering costs related to books, fees, travel abroad, a computer, and my Master's degree. 

Throughout my teaching career, I was eager to guide my students along a similar path toward attaining a higher education without the shadow of daunting debt. For over twenty years, I have assisted countless students in following a step-by-step process to enhance their prospects of securing scholarships, leading them to realize their academic dreams without financial constraints. Witnessing the alarming surge in college costs and the consequential stress and life-altering decisions brought about by student loan debt has deeply moved me. This has inspired me to share my methods and expertise with others, culminating in the creation of Scholarships Simplified. Helping students build a strong academic foundation through tutoring is the first step on this path, and I look forward to embarking on this shared journey with you. Together we can navigate the road to higher education, unburdened by the weight of financial challenges.
